Chicago fashion house AKIRA partnered with cancer charity Imerman Angels to host its biggest runway show to date. Grossinger City Autoplex, a state-of-the-art 400,000-square-foot space in Lincoln Park, served as an industrial-chic backdrop for AKIRA’s newest crop of metallic minidresses, shiny blazers, and textured blouses. The gritty glam of the garage-turned-catwalk reached its apex with luxurious add-ons such as pop-up shops, live entertainment, and hors d’oeuvre from the city’s hottest eateries. Guests extended their night of unconventional opulence by migrating to Japonais after the show for an exclusive afterparty sponsored by PF Flyers. The clothing & footwear presented include: Wolverine, William Rast, PF Flyers, Original Penguin, AKIRA Black Label, Ben Sherman, Michael Antonio, ZiGi NY, and Jeffrey Campbell. Guests enjoyed tasty bites and cocktails from N9NE Steakhouse, Prasino, Epic, Burger Bar, Barn & Company, Moe’s Cantina, Dos Diablos, 4Rebels, Market, Cabot Creamery, LUNA, Goose Island, Vitaminwater, Fuze, popchips, and Pirate’s Booty. Proceeds from Hall of Mirrors will benefit Imerman Angels, a not-for-profit organization that provides 1-on-1 cancer support by connecting cancer fighters, survivors, and caregivers all across the country. |
