Giuliana and Bill Rancic of the Style Network kicked off the holiday season in downtown Chicago with the lighting of Macy's Great Tree in the famous Walnut Room. The event included amazing performance by award-winning Chicago Mass Choir. Macy's Great Tree stands 45 feet tall, and features more than 2,000 ornaments and 15,000 sparkling LED lights. The Great Tree has been a centerpiece of the holiday dining tradition for more than a century and will be on display from November 5, 2011 to January 8, 2012. Following the tree lighting Giuliana and Bill headed over to the Hotel Collection Department fr a book sigining. Those who made a purchase of $150 or more in Hotel Collection on the day of the event received a free copy of their book," I Do, Now What?: Secrets, Stories and Advice from a Madly-in-Love Couple" and had a chance to meet them for their autograph. This year's Holiday Windows showcase the story behind "The Wish Factory" and what happens as wishes and dreams are turned into ornaments. View what happens in "The Wish Factory" and how the beginning of each wish and dream turns into the ingredients, the magic that stirs them up and finally how a celebrity-inspired ornament is created by Macy's star designers. |

About Macy's Believe Campaign: Known worldwide for its holiday traditions from the Thanksgiving Day Parade to the first in-store Santa, Macy's resurrects the magical Believe Stations in every store that feature a Believe Meter, letter-writing station and an official Santa Mail letterbox due to the tremendous customer response and outstanding customer feedback. Beginning November 6, children across the country are invited to drop off their at Macy's Santa Mail letterbox. For each letter received, Macy's will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation up to $1 million to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. |
